[Note: I am reading through the Bible in 2026 and blogging each day on one of the passages I’ve read. These won’t be “perfect” posts, but this exersize helps me think though and apply some portion of scripture to my life each day.]
It’s Valentine’s Day and I imagine a lot of people out there are brokenhearted. They don’t have a spouse or significant other or someone they are dating. They may not have any family at all to wish them a Happy V-Day. So this verse may be especially welcome:
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
What encouragement. I’ve been brokenhearted. I’ve felt a crushed spirit.
God was near. God saved.
I may not always have FELT like it. But that doesn’t mean it’s not true.
Dear Lord: Next time I feel broken and crushed deep down inside, please remind me that you are near, that you care. Amen
