… good works are conspicuous, and even those that are not cannot remain hidden. 1 Timothy 5: 25
For some reason, nothing really jumped out at me today. But my eye came back a couple of times to this verse.
I’ve done things that are good that no one ever knew about. Hidden good works. It interests me that they cannot remain so. Good works eventually reveal themselves.
Not exactly sure how that is (since I’ve done things no one really knew about), but I think it’s related to the end times:
Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God. 1 Corinthians 4: 5
Luke 12: 23 and Matthew 10: 26 say essentially the same thing.
I think, however, that when all my good works are revealed (even those I didn’t know about), and I receive God’s commendation, I will immediately turn around and praise Him.
Because any good I’ve ever done is because of Him.
Dear Lord: Thank You that others nor I always know when I do good. But one day, You will reveal all good deeds. And You ALONE will receive the glory for them. Amen
