2017 Day 290 – More Promises

The Lord spoke to Jeremiah in a dream about the days when He would, “restore the fortunes of my people Israel and Judah… and… bring them back to the land that I gave to their fathers…” (Jeremiah 30:3)

The vision of what God would do for His people so encouraged Jeremiah the he said when he awoke, “…my sleep was pleasant to me.” 31:26

Jeremiah didn’t have a lot of pleasant moments, but this was one!

As I read this morning, I underlined a few of the promises God made to His people, promises that encourage me, too (and yesterday I blogged about another promise related to the return of Judah and Israel):

  • Jacob shall return and have quiet and ease,
        and none shall make him afraid. (30:10b)
  • For I will restore [spiritual] health to you,
        and your [sin] wounds I will heal (30:17)
  • And you shall be my people,
        and I will be your God. (30:22)
  • I have loved you with an everlasting love;
        therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you. (31:3)
  • I will turn their mourning into joy;
        I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow. (31:13b)
  •  I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish. (31:25)

I especially like that last promise. I was really weary a while back and blogged about it here, here and here.

But God has used a wonderful God-centered meeting with other like-minded women in ministry as well as some fabulous friendships to “satisfy [my] weary soul” and replenish it.

Dear Lord: Thank You for these promises and for replenishing my soul. Amen
