The day was ok. The evening was bad. So, parts of this Psalm help:
May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!
May he grant you your heart’s desire
and fulfill all your plans!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions!
O Lord, save the king!
May he answer us when we call. Psalm 20: 1, 4, 5b, 9
I admit that today I am a bit skeptical about God giving me the desires of my heart or fulfilling all my petitions – after being disappointed recently.
But I’m good with asking God to answer me in my trouble, save me (though I am not a king!), and answer when I call.
Dear Lord: You know exactly the funk I am in and why I have a hard time believing in good answers to prayer, but I do ask that you answer me and help me in my troubles. Help! Amen.
