For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. Romans 8:18-19
Life is hard. No doubt about it. We are in a world messed up by sin – so we suffer. But what we experience today hardly compares with what we will experience in the future – when we stand before God and see His glory.
All the suffering will be more than reversed when we see God, when He reveals our perfect selves.
Life is hard for the earth, too. We are so worried about the direction that our world is going – global warming, over-population, etc.
But that, too, will be reversed. All that’s wrong in the world will be made right when all that’s wrong in us is made right.
And creation waits with eager anticipation for this to happen. The world can’t wait for us to be made perfect – because then it will be perfect too.
Dear Lord: When I suffer, help me to remember these truths! Amen.
