And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” And immediately they left their nets and followed Him. Mark 1:17
We are working on a way to communicate what joining our ministry will do for future volunteers. What phrase most adequately expresses what we do in a way that will touch the passions of our volunteers?
How can we encapsulate our mission in a sentence so that women will “get us” and want to join us? How can we at least raise their curiosity to know more?
We’re not there yet, but when I read how Jesus called the disciples, it hit me: Jesus was a master marketer!
He called the fishermen (their passion) to fish for men (his passion) and they IMMEDIATELY left their nets and followed Him.
Isn’t that a great tag line: “Jesus and Company: Fishers of Men?” Even if you didn’t “get it,” you’d be curious enough to learn it meant.
We’ve been struggling with how to communicate our mission well. Good thing we have the author of the Best Ad Line Ever on our team!
Dear Lord: You know what we need to do at work. You know how to do it. Please help us! Amen
