I love it when I notice something in the Bible I never saw before. Like today.
It’s the Last Supper and Jesus says, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.”
To which the disciples began to ask, one at a time, “Is it I, Lord?”
Only one person asked a different question.
Judas asked, “Is it I, Rabbi?”
Wow. What a difference.
To Judas, Jesus was just a teacher.
To the rest, He was their Lord. Their Master. Their Messiah.
That made all the difference.
Dear Lord: Thank You that you teach me, but that you are far more. Thank you for doing what it took to turn my heart toward You, to recognize that you are more than a teacher. You are my Lord and my God. Amen.
