Day 243 – Frustrating Injustices

As I read through the Ecclesiastes passages today, I kept thinking how despite the advancements of the “modern age,” nothing much changes.

These same things happen today:

I saw the funerals of evil people who used to go in and out of the holy place. They were honored in the same towns where they had done evil. This is useless, too.  8: 10 NCV

I also saw something else here on earth: … the wisest does not always have food,  the smartest does not always become wealthy,  and the talented one does not always receive praise. 9:11

Fools are given important positions
while gifted people are given lower ones 10: 6

Don’t those kind of injustices make you crazy?

I recall someone once pointed out that Ecclesiastes is about what happens “under the sun,” without an eternal perspective.

Good thing, all of these icky situations will be straightened out in eternity!
